Tension is currently brewing in Mosogar as Rt Hon Lovette Idisi, Chairman of Council, College of Education, Mosogar, accuses Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Nyerovwo Tonukari of creating and instigating Chaos by locking him out of his office on Friday, November 3rd, 2023.
This accusation comes amidst a controversy surrounding the appointment of a Registrar for the college.
On Friday, November 3rd, 2023 Rt Hon Lovette Idisi arrived at his office only to find the door locked. Expressing his bewilderment, Rt Hon Lovette Idisi said, "I am the chairman of council, the Governing Council followed due process and constituted a quorum during the interview with seven out of nine members present.
Lovette Idisi further said, "This whole problem started with an erroneous letter written by Professor Nyerovwo Tonukari, that we did not constitute quorum to conduct the interview. We followed due process, seven out of nine constitute a quorum, he said.
Speaking further, Hon Lovette Idisi said, "the Honourable commissioner has acted in error by writing that five members attended the interview, he was asked to withdraw the erroneous letter but he refused.
"Let me put it in record, that on the said day of the interview, Professor Nyerovwo Tonukari came
here and called me out of the interview room, he made a call to the SSG of Delta State saying that he has a preferred candidate, I told him no, that due process must be followed to get a registrar for the college, out of frustration he left.
He tried to sabotage the interview process, but quorum was still met, seven out of nine statutory members conducted the interview.
Rt Hon Lovette Idisi also criticized the commissioner for writing a letter filled with errors, falsehood and unfounded.
This matter is already subjudice, it is only a court of competent jurisdiction that can change what we have done. I have been served, the office of the commissioner has been served. Everyone should be on notice that this matter is already subjudice, anyone that will do anything concerning the office of the registrar will be taken the law into his hands, he added.
As at the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach Professor Nyerovwo Tonukari was fruitless, his phone rang several times, but he did not pick.
