Nigerian Navy Offers Free Medical Rhapsody To Residents Of Sapele As Part Of End Of Year Activities.

As part of end of year activities, the Naval Medical Centre Sapele in conjunction with Nigerian Naval Engineering College Sapele Delta State has rendered free medical services to residents of Sapele Local Government Area.

Speaking to newsmen, The Commander Naval Medical Centre Sapele, Surgeon Lieutenant Commander SO Martins said that "the free medical rhapsody is part of the end of year activities as directed by the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral EI OGALLA which encouraged the Naval Medical Centre to show appreciation and gratitude for the continuous support and peaceful co-existence between the Nigeria Navy and its host communities over the years.
"The navy is committed to improving the health status of members of its host community and strengthen the relationship between the navy and its host communities.

"We are rendering Free medical care, health talks, eye check, laboratory services, dental check, free blood test amongst others ", he said.
He also stated that anyone discovered to have a serious ailment would be referred to the Naval Medical Centre, he stressed that the medical centre is not for naval personnel alone, but the general public is free to harness their services.

"From today's gesture, we are expecting to have nothing less than 4,000 beneficiaries.
A beneficiary who spoke to newsmen gave his name as Mr Lucky Ifionayi express deep appreciation to the Nigeria Navy for the kind and wonderful gesture, he thanked the navy for always carrying members of the public along.

Highlights of the event was the administration of Free Drugs for patients who came to the program.
