Residents and Motorists of Gana/Ugberikoko road in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State have continued to express worries over the consistent gridlock they are facing. There has been continuous plea from residents and motorists on the government for them to come to their rescue.
A commercial driver who plies the road on a daily basis who gave his name as Dave Akpokona told newsmen that "this is the only road leading to Ugberikoko, Otonsayere and other villages in the area. Speaking further, he said that there was need for immediate rehabilitation. This road has been neglected for too long and I am appealing to the relevant authority to take immediate action, he said.
This failed portion of the road is the major cause of the gridlock and it has become a daily routine. We are suffering everyday and I want the government to come and reconstruct the failed portion a lady taken her ward to school said.
A tricycle rider who gave his name as Newton Enofomi said that "I can tell you that other tricycle riders are currently avoiding this road because of its deplorable state.
A bike rider who reside in the area gave his name as Ochuko Bright said that "we are suffering and facing untold hardship on account of the deplorable State of the Gana/Ugberikoko road, which has become nightmare for motorists, commuters and other road users plying the road. We are begging the state government to intervene by coming to our aid and fix the road.
