No fewer than 1000 person have benefitted from the free Medical Outreach program organise by
the Nigerian Naval Engineering College In Conjunction with the Naval Medical Centre Sapele.
The medical outreach program was done to mark this year Nigeria's at 62nd independence day celebrations.
The event which took place at Andoma International High School, New Ogorode Road received large numbers of residents who came out in their numbers to seek medical attention.
Speaking at the Outreach program, Surgeon Commander James Adakole Adaji explained to newsmen that the Engineering College decided carry out the program to mark this year's Independence day celebration by reaching out to Sapele residents who are host of the College and Medical Centre.
Adaji said "the Naval Medical Centre have qualified Doctors, Be it gynecologist, Optometrist, Nurses and others. I can assure you, they are all on ground to attend to anyone seeking medical attention.
In his words, many peoples in the society have minor health challenges, but lack of Medical attention, have aggravated it, hence the need for the medical outreach become imperative.
Adaji added that in the process of this Medical Outreach, should there be need for surgical operation for anyone, the medical centre is well equipped to handle such a case. He stressed that, the Medical Centre is not only for Naval personnel, but the general public is free to harness their services.
In continuation, Adaji said that "the Naval carryout outreach program like this quarterly as part of their cooperate social responsibility to the society and this occasion is not the first, as they target different communities in their area of operation, adding that another outreach planned will soon be carried out in Jesse Town, Ethoipe West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Highlights of the event was the administration of free drugs, medical glasses and others for patients who came for the program..
