The last is yet to be heard about the married woman, Mrs. Onajite Ohwevwo who was caught making love with another woman right on her matrimonial's bed, as latest development reveals that, just like her, her husband and children have also been banished from Oton Community, the husband having chosen to forgive his wife for the atheistic and desecrating act.
According to reports, Mr. Ufuoma Ohwevwo during a town hall meeting held at the instance of the elders and youths of the community to deliberate on the impious act committed by his wife, said his decision to forgive his wife was borne out the fact that he still loves his wife and believes she could still turn a new leaf.
His decision however drew the ire of the community elders and youths who felt disappointed with the husband, especially as it has been customary and the tradition of the community to either ostracize, stone or burn culprits of such act to death.
The decision of Mr. Ufuoma Ohwevwo which almost resulted in his lynching, saw him being booed at, insulted and physically molested by angry youths, who vowed that he will not leave the meeting alive.
It was reported that Mr. Ufuoma Ohwevwo saving grace at the meeting were the security men who were invited to the meeting in anticipation of what could happen at the meeting
The security men present at the meeting had a hectic time, trying to rescue Mrs. Onajite Ohwevwo's husband, as he was shoved on all sides by angry youths and community members, who were raring to go for the kill, to express the degree of their anger by choosing to forgive his wife and accept her back to his matrimonial home, in spite of the sacrilegious act committed by her.
Although Mr. Ufuoma Ohwevwo was successfully rescued from the hands of the angry youths of the community by the security personnel present at the meeting, the community however ostracized and placed a fatwa on his head and family, saying that they should be attacked or killed anywhere members of the community come across them.
Not done with the decision reached at the meeting, the visibly angry youths of community, marched from the venue of meeting directly to the home of Mr. Ufuoma Ohwevwo, where his properties and that of his family were torched, vowing that they will not rest, until they murder him and his entire family.
From reports, Mr. Ufuoma Ohwevwo has eloped very far with his family to another part of the country, where they don't even feel safe, owing to the fatwa placed on them by the archaic Oton Community, in the Southern part of the country.
