The group frowns at those involved in the act, emphasizing that such violence against the defenders of the nation cannot be overlooked, adding that thorough investigation should be done so that those who perpetuated the crime be brought to book.
They also condemn the burning of Okuama Community which has resulted in the deaths of innocent women and children, as well as the destruction of property. Adding that the act has inflicted more suffering on the already vulnerable communities in a time of hardship.

DIIGL calls for the establishment of an independent panel of inquiry to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding these brutal attacks to ensure that the perpetrators involved are identified and brought to justice, in accordance with the rule of law.
Furthermore, DIIGL urges His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, to take proactive measures in resolving community disputes within the state, thereby mitigating the risk of future clashes. Noting that sustainable peace and harmony can only be achieved through constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for human rights.
As a steadfast advocate for justice and good governance, DIIGL remains committed to promoting peace, stability, and the protection of human rights in the Niger Delta region and beyond.
